Don’t just sell to your followers…Show your human side!
Giving away engaging information to your followers for free will attract potential customers and prove to them you are a real, interesting person. Whether it be something you created yourself or simply useful content you found somewhere on the web, sharing quality content with your tribe through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and emails will help increase your list…and your sales impact. Being too overly promotional turns people off. As a general rule, it is acceptable to be self-promotional about one fifth of the time. So that means one of every five emails or social media posts.
Don’t forget to engage with others, too.
Interacting with another social media user- even if you don’t know them- increases your reach and expands your list of followers. For example, if someone in your field sends out a tweet that you like, retweet it! Or if you have an article to share that you think would be particularly interesting to a particular author or expert, tag them in a post on Facebook! This way your posts will not only be seen by your followers, but their followers as well. And, others will be more likely to engage with you if you have engaged with them first.
